Introduction

Charlotte Plemmons Warren

During a successful career as a marketing, advertising and public relations executive, Charlotte spent decades in the graphic design world hiring photographers to produce award-winning campaigns for wide variety of clients.

Her admiration and love of photography increased several years ago when she located a photographers’ darkroom and cajoled the owner into teaching her how to print photographs from film.

Since then, photography has become a full-time passion as she works to produce compelling images drawing on her love of nature, Texas ranch life, icons, relics and remembrances of times past.

Her tools are contemporary film and digital cameras, as well as vintage panoramic, Hasselblad and infrared cameras.

Her work has appeared in "Range and Ranch Living" magazine and several images have won awards in statewide competition, likely inspired by her family’s firmly rooted historical attachment to Texas.

Ancestors from both her mother’s and father’s families fought at and defended the Alamo, and other family members served as early Texas Rangers bringing justice to the new frontier of the Lone Star State. Being named, a “Sure Nuff Hunnerd Percent Gin-U-Wine Ring Tailed Tooter Texas Woman” at an annual Texas Independence Day celebration is a favorite "honor".

She and her husband reside on a ranch outside Austin,Texas. The artist’s studio, near the hip So-Co district south of downtown Austin, provides a venue from which to work and photograph while keeping an eye on the ever-changing skyline. Photographic work is currently represented through the Wally Workman Gallery, Austin, Texas.
